My views on Hamas –
1- it is Islamic
I don’t believe there is a god and many things in the Koran are against my liberal viewpoint .
2- like the IRA and many other military wings of political parties, it engages in violence .
I think violence is a major step back in societies .
3- it wants the destruction of Israel
I don’t want that . I only would like to see UN resolutions acted upon .
A- it wants the Israeli settlements in the West Bank and Gaza to be abandoned
Agree ,but it should accept that Israel has a right to exist . Maybe as a goodwill gesture – Israel could hand over the settlements to Palestinian families . ( Pipedream )
B- it wants a Palestinian state
Agree , but one that lives peacefully, co-operates and trusts an Israeli state . ,( Pipedream )
C – wants a future for its citizens
Agree , but inviting Airstrikes isn’t the way forward .
– it should disband military wing and create a non violent movement with a Martin Luther King Peaceful civil rights type approach .
-End all violence -firing rockets just keeps the cycle of hate , fear and bloodshed going . So it should abandon its aim of wiping Israel of the map .
Unarmed civilians ,united and marching , against soldiers enforcing colonialism is something that might work in the long run.
